Word of Encouragement to the Catholic People of Australia 2020.

Updated: Nov 3, 2022

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

“Peace be with you.” (Luke 24:36)

St. Luke tells us that the Apostles were startled and afraid when they heard these comforting words from the Lord, who stood in their midst, after His resurrection. The Apostles have been in hiding following the Crucifixion of their Master, and were definitely in a state of paralysis no longer knowing what to do or what to expect. The Lord surely understood this disorienting situation. Hence, He uttered these simple words of encouragement to His disciples in order to warm up their hearts, leading them to dispel any lingering fear. Today, as we celebrate the Feast of the Ascension of our Lord, I also wish to share with each one of you, my dear faithful, the following “Words of Encouragement” intended to lead you, despite the dire moments we are experiencing due to the Corona pandemic, to go on witnessing joyfully your faith with your entourage like the apostles did following the Ascension of our Lord. (cf. Luke 24:53)

With my paternal blessing and with prayers assured,

X Robert Rabbat, DD
